Belt lipectomy: the most important surgery for massive weight loss patients.

Patients who have lost a lot of weight, usually more than 30 kg, may be in need of various plastic surgery procedures to manage shagging and loose skin.

During the congress, the surgeon’s experience on belt lipectomy procedures in Greece was presented.

Belt lipectomy removes loose skin from the entire torso, i.e. not only from the belly but also from the lower back. Standard abdominoplasty is not suitable for handling excess loose skin. Therefore, if a patient with excess loose skin is submitted to a standard abdominoplasty then the procedure will not be successful.

Belt lipectomy advantages:
