Microsurgery or aesthetics?

1 1a

In 2001 I completed my residency in Plastic Surgery. In 2003 I had already completed almost 2 years of service as a Senior Clinical Fellow at Sheffield University Hospital. Right then, my big dilemma was choosing between Aesthetic surgery or Microsurgery. I had already published articles on Microsurgery in the most reputed journals in my field of specialisation. In fact, one of my articles has been included among the top 10 articles of its decade in PRS (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery).

The non-touch no pain technique was first introduced in breast surgery by Mr Keramidas in 2004. All these years we have presented our technique in numerous Conferences in Greece and abroad. In 2012 we presented our technique for the first time on video at the World Congress of Aesthetic Surgery that took place in Geneva under the auspices of ISAPS.

It was therefore a matter of time for this technique to be incorporated in other procedures. Here we shall look into the implementation of the non-touch no pain technique in tummy tucks.

The new technique was presented for the first time at the IMCAS World Congress 2015 held in Paris and then at the 2016 BAPRAS meeting in London.
