Scientific Activity
This page is created for the inquiring visitor who wishes to follow our scientific course, as presented through:
- Presentations, lectures, participations in world, international and Greek congresses of our specialty
- Publications in prominent Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery journals.
- TV appearances
2010 and 2011 are characterised by two important events:
- For the first time ever in Greek television, Mega Channel undertakes to provide systematic information on plastic surgery matters to the Greek public. This resulted in 12 broadcasts during an 8-month period. Watch the videos. We addressed subjects such as:
- Breast Augmentation
- Choosing the right breast implant size
- Breast asymmetry
- Tuberous breast
- Fat transfer
- Sfumato technique: Combination of Botox and hyaluronic aid for face rejuvenation. This technique was first presented in Mega Channel and then during the IMCAS Meeting in Paris, in January 2011.
- Obese patient and plastic surgery
- Breast lift
- Perfect lips
- Rhinoplasty
- The golden ratio
2.Preseentations, lectures and participations in Greek, International and World Congresses.
Keramidas Evangelos, Plastic Surgeon, presented 2 new papers at the ESPRAS 2014 - 12th Congress of the European Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, in Edinburgh.
The subjects of his papers were:
Plastic surgeon Keramidas Evangelos presented two innovative techniques at the IMCAS World Congress of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery in Paris in early 2014 and three papers at the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)-The Aesthetic Meeting 2014 in San Francisco.
IMCAS 2014 World Congress of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery in Paris
The techniques were titled:
- «travelling hours following breast augmentation - how safe is it? a 10 years prospective study»
This original study, which is unique in the world, started as an idea 10 years ago. Our hypothesis in 2003 was that if we had a surgical technique that is quick, bloodless, almost atraumatic as to tissues, with minimum post-operative pain and anaesthesia that will not cause nausea or vomiting then patients will not only be able to leave the hospital on the same day but they will be able to travel back to their hometown or home-country on the same day!!!
After 10 years of implementing the non-touch-no pain technique in breast augmentation we presented the outcome of our work during the IMCAS Meeting in Paris
So, out of a total of 1450 patients with breast augmentation, 282 patients travelled to their hometown or even their home country on the same day either by plane, boat, car or train!
Patients moved to 15 different cities in Europe and 20 cities in Greece. The longest journey in terms of flight time was from Athens to Dubai and the shortest was from Athens to Mykonos. Patients travelled on the same day only hours after surgery, to London, Alexandroupoli, Paris, Kavala, Brussels, Ioannina, Manchester, Rhodes, Newcastle, Crete, Dubai, Mykonos, etc. Everyone travelled safely and no problems were reported!
This study may prove very important for the growth of Medical Tourism in Greece!!!

2. «the dual plane tunnel technique for abdominoplasty is reducing pain to almost zero - a prospective study»
A new technique in Abdominoplasty is presented in full detail. The great advantage of this technique is that it involves almost no pain and no drains after surgery. Patients can go home the same day! Specific candidate patients can undergo the technique with local anaesthesia and sedation only!

3. A new technique for tuberous breasts
Mr. Keramidas presented a new technique for treating tuberous breasts combining the MUST technique and, when needed, areola reduction.
